Officials from the Ministry of Transport and Works said that they are continuing to work on a significant number of projects in the north of the country.

Chief Engineer in the Ministry of Transport and Works, Brent Bailey, told NBC News that the Rehabilitative work on the Langley Park Bridge at Basin Hole in Georgetown has resumed and this work is progressing smoothly.  The bridge was damaged as a result of flash floods which occurred in April 2011.

Mr. Bailey also said that they are also developing designs for the rehabilitation of the Caratal Bridge at Georgetown, which was damaged during the flooding of December 2013.  He highlighted that they are also developing other road and bridge programs.

The Chief Engineer further stated that a number of the projects are progressing slowly because there is a need for more engineers and quantity surveyors.
