Chief Engineer in the Ministry of Transport and Works, Brent Bailey, said that the Ministry is continuing to work on projects in areas which were affected by the Flash Floods which occurred in April 2011.
Mr. Bailey told NBC news that they are currently developing the Natural Disaster Management Project and he hope that they can invite tenders for work under this program by June. He said that under this project, which is being funded by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), they expect to undertake work in areas such as Gorse Mountain Road and the Byera Bridge, among others.
Mr. Bailey further stated that they will also be conducting river training in a number of rivers across the country to remove the debris that was brought down by the floods of April 2011 and December 2013. The work is expected to start by June.
