Significant work aimed at developing the road networks across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is continuing.

This statement was made by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves during a recent Face-to-Face programme aired on NBC Radio.

Prime Minister Gonsalves said he recently hosted a meeting with all the relevant stakeholders across the country that deal with roads, as well as sea and river defenses.

"I had a meeting last week with all the relevant stakeholders within the state administration dealing with roads and bridges and sea and river defenses. I had Cabinet everybody there plus all the senior persons engineers, quantities of various people on from the Ministry of Work, Permanent Secretary, Everybody from BRAGSA, then big projects like for instance, those responsible for the World Bank CBD Projects, those responsible for the Taiwanese Road Project, those responsible for overseeing the projects with the Kuwati Fund and plus of course what BRAGS is doing. And there are several issues which I dealt with including availability of aggregate."

Prime Minister Gonsalves said earlier this week, he also held a meeting with Rayneau Construction and Industrial Products who operate the Quarry on the Leeward side of the country.

The Prime Minister said he was informed that in six weeks, the relevant material will be made available for road construction.

"I had a meeting with Rayneau because I wanted to know what was happening to the quarry down at Richmond and they are doing sorting runs and so on, they tell me in six (6) weeks' time they will have the relevant material for road and then for other stuff within another month after that. Brought the manager in, in fact he brought his daughter who he brought from Saint Lucia to be here to be overseeing things."
