Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said work done on the National Road Rehabilitation Programme so far, is valued at just over 53 million dollars.
He said this figure amounts to about 65 per cent of the works and expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of the project.
The Prime Minister noted that there are limitations with contractors, materials, and laborers.
"A total of about seventeen (17) roads are either complete or substantially complete. These are roads Manawar, Magum, Peruvian Vale roads, Belvedere Bridge and Approach Road, Canouan Coast Guard Base Road, three (3) pieces of roads in Chapmans, Langley Park Village Roads, Cotton Round Roads, Barrowmorn Welcome Roads, Roseau Bottom and Cross Link Roads and a piece of road in Lowmans Plan. Now this is as of the middle of March, the summary which I have."
Prime Minister Gonsalves provided further updates on roads being constructed under lot one.
"The Belair Middle road that's under construction, Calliaqua internal roads, Colonaire, Subdivision roads, we are giving out some lands, Grand Sable Estate roads, Keartons Community road, Mount Pleasant, Freeland. Then those are ongoing and in that particular lot as I indicated just now Magum, Manawar and Peruvian Vale, they are being completed more or less. Some of these roads they had a variance on some of them because they were added more money when to do the work which is required to be done."
