The annual School Repair Programme, carried out by the Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority (BRAGSA), is expected to get underway soon.

The repairs will be carried out to ensure that schools are ready for the start of the new academic year.

This was confirmed by the Minister of Education, Hon. Phillip Jackson, during NBC’s 'Talk Yuh Talk' programme on Tuesday, July 21.

The Minister went on to state: "So BRAGSA very soon will roll out the annual Schools' Repair and Renovation Activities, fixing things that need to be fixed... their bathrooms, and changing out panels that need changing out, etc. That will be rolled out very soon and we hope that the pace of work will be sufficient so, by the time school opens at the end of August... As a matter of fact, there are people starting petitions online to please open school in September, but BRAGSA is committed to making sure that this work is done properly and as speedily as possible. So we welcome participation from the public and interested parties; jump in when the work is being done and help out, why not? That's how we build partnerships."
